I am a timber frame artisan and in our shop we hand carve and finish all the beams that we carve, Oak, Fir, you name it. While most of the fellows finish with standard random orbital sanders, I always pull out one of the Festool sanders we keep in the shop and I'm finished in half the time and I don't hum and vibrate through lunch like the other fellows. The Festool is smooth, quiet and comfortable in the hands not to mention, easy on my old bones.
