At Holland & Knapp, we specialize in high-end custom remodels and new construction.
Many of our most complicated projects are full house remodels where we're tasked
with seamlessly blending old and new. This means we take the extra time to prioritize
quality and pay extra attention to detail, but attention to detail and extra quality
take more time, and time is money. We have no choice but to work efficiently and
minimize risk in our business. To do this, we rely on the efficiency behind Festool.
The tool's consistent performance and results give me confidence when working in
high stakes situations with expensive materials.
As residential builders and remodelers, we're not only selling the end product,
but also the experience of working with us through the entire project. This means
keeping the customer's home clean and organized while we work. We wouldn't be able
to do this without Festool's HEPA dust extractors. Customers know that we care about
their space and health when we show up with Festool's dust extractors because they
are sealed, quiet, integrated with our tools, and don't blow dusty air around. Additionally,
in our region, it's more common for us to be working on a home built before 1978,
which means most of the houses we work on contain lead-based paint. The HEPA certified
dust extractors allow us to comply by the Federal RRP rule and follow lead-safe
work practices. Needless to say, our dust extractors check off many boxes.
When I buy power tools, I want to know that they're well made, going to last and consistently
produce excellent results. Given that 90% of our work takes place on jobsites, I
also need tools that are going to make it easy for me to setup, breakdown, and transport
in consistently changing environments. Festool satisfies all these requirements
and the more you work with them, the more you are impressed and understand the value.
Besides their tools' capabilities, Festool's brand values of quality and high standards
run parallel to our company culture. When purchasing tools, I'm buying for the long
term and am not looking for a quick fix. I would always recommend Festool to a friend
or colleague, because I know they can't go wrong with the purchase, plain and simple.
Holland & Knapp Construction
Before I began my career, I asked myself "What do I want out of my job?" For me,
the answer was simple: Creativity, physical activity, personal interaction, and
pride. I ultimately found this fulfillment in the carpentry and woodworking trades,
but it wasn't always a sure thing.
I wouldn't be here without the help of my mentor, Mickey Galowski, who offered me
my first post-college job—working on a custom home build with him and his crew.
That summer job turned into over three years of working side by side with Mickey
as his apprentice. Since those early years, I've taken my lessons from Mickey and
applied them to my own business. My name is Zachary Knapp and I'm a General Contractor
and part owner of the residential design-build firm Holland & Knapp Construction.
