Festool systems deliver a seamless connection between tools and dust extractors—matched for nearly any application. The result: reduced cleanup, cleaner surfaces, and more consistent performance, whether you're in the workshop or on the jobsite.
Woodworking: Routing, sawing, sanding and planing of soft and hard wood
Extracting paint dust: Resin- and water-based clear coats, latex and oil paints
Cleaning work: Office, workshop, vehicle, household dust, gypsum, lime
Cordless extractors are perfectly tailored to the cordless Festool tools. As a result, cordless applications now offer 100% mobility and, above all, no dust.
Corded extractors are ideal for stationary and semi-stationary applications where small or large quantities of dust are generated. Both corded tools via the electrical outlet module and cordless tool via Bluetooth® are easy to connect to the mobile dust extractor and start it automatically.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions and answers.
Dust slows you down. Festool helps you stay on track. Every cut, every rout, every pass of the sander—dust comes with the job. Left unchecked, it gets in the way:
- Slows your workflow
- Wears down your tools
- Hurts the quality of your finish
That’s why Festool dust extractors are built to capture dust at the source—before it spreads. From compact cordless units for quick installs to high-capacity models for the shop, there’s a system to match your tools and tasks.
Each extractor connects quickly and securely with our inter-locking bayonet system, keeping a firm grip on the tool and keeping cleanup to a minimum for sharp results.
Dust extractors do the heavy lifting—but they don’t catch everything. Even with proper extraction, some fine dust stays in the air—especially during sanding, sawing, or when working with drywall or cement. That’s where an air filter steps in.
It filters what your extractor can’t reach, picking up the lingering dust that escapes into the workspace. It’s not a replacement—it’s the second half of the system.
Dust Extractor + Air Filter = cleaner air and a better work environment.
Key Features of Festool Dust Extractors
Professional-grade performance, built into every detail.
Auto Start/Stop
Connect your tool, and the extractor powers up automatically—then runs a few seconds after shutoff to catch leftover dust. That’s smarter extraction with less noise, lower energy use, and less wear.
Durability
Built for daily use on demanding sites. Tough housing, reliable motors, and long-lasting filters keep performance steady over time.
Antistatic Hose System
No dust clinging to the hose, no static shocks, and no clogging. Festool’s antistatic design keeps airflow smooth and cleanup simple.
HEPA Filtration
Many models come standard or ready for HEPA filters, capturing the finest dust particles that typical filters can miss—ideal for sensitive tasks or strict site requirements.
Bluetooth Connectivity
Start your extractor remotely using a Bluetooth-enabled battery or remote switch. Great for cordless tools and when you're working away from the unit.
Systainer Integration
Stay organized with built-in Systainer storage. Stack, lock, and transport your tools and extractor as a single unit.
Variable Suction Control
Dial in just the right amount of suction for your task—strong when you need it, gentler when you don’t.
Using tools from other manufacturers with a Festool extractor depends on compatibility, as sizes and shapes of connections vary. Festool focuses on designing tools that perfectly integrate with its system for clean, dust-free work. While Festool does not produce sleeves for other brands, you can use an appropriate connector to attach non-Festool tools to a Festool hose if necessary. For optimal compatibility and dust extraction performance, Festool tools and dust extractors are best used together.
If asbestos is detected, it is essential to consult your local authorities immediately for guidance on proper handling and disposal in compliance with local regulations.
Tradespeople and construction workers often generate large amounts of dust, some of which contain hazardous substances. Without proper dust extraction, inhaling even small amounts can lead to serious health issues like asthma, bronchitis, or various types of cancer, including lung, mouth, throat, or nasal cancer.
Fine dust poses an even greater risk as it bypasses nasal filters, reaching the lungs and causing significant damage. Carcinogenic materials like silica, asbestos, or even wood dust (long-term exposure) can have severe consequences.
To stay safe, always use effective precautionary measures to minimize dust inhalation.
Using a single dust extractor for both workshops and construction sites can be practical, but its suitability depends on specific factors.
For example, a CT48 extractor, weighing over 39lbs (18 kg), may be too cumbersome to transport for smaller tasks. Additionally, extracting mineral dust without the Automatic Cleaning (AC) function is not advisable, as it can compromise efficiency.
On the flip side, using a CT SYS extractor in workshops with high-dust-producing machines—such as routers or planers—is also not ideal. The small container of this device would fill up within seconds, making it inefficient for such scenarios. Instead, machines equipped with larger dust containers are more appropriate for those settings.
If you intend to use a single extractor for both environments, it's essential to consider the type and volume of dust generated. Carefully assess your requirements and ensure the machine you select can handle the demands of dust-free work effectively.
