Festool counts on FSC™
Festool is awarded FSC certification for paper, cardboard and wood
Taking responsibility as a defined company goal
As a medium-sized family company, Festool is aware of its impact on the environment. The company's passion for high-quality power tools has continued for almost 100 years. The standard is perfection – no more and no less. The premium brand also applies this high quality standard to everything that it does. Festool therefore sees it as its corporate responsibility to use resources and energy efficiently across the world. The issue of sustainability has many dimensions, such as emissions, energy demand, resource consumption and social aspects. For many years, Festool has been deliberately focusing on the factors of sustainability and quality, as the more long-lasting a product, the more positive its overall ecological balance. Festool has always been known for the high quality and durability of its products. As a result of this, tools come in for repair that have been in professional use for 20 years or more. Even a fault does not have to mean the end of a product's service life straight away. Through the full repair service and the ten-year spare part guarantee that Festool offers for all tools, the service life is significantly extended. Festool is now going one step further and is making the procurement of raw materials from responsible forest management in accordance with high ecological and social standards a defined company goal.
FSC certification system as another contribution towards sustainability
FSC™ stands for Forest Stewardship Council™.

The Forest Stewardship CouncilTM is an international, non-governmental organization that promotes environmentally friendly, socially equitable and economically viable management of forests worldwide. The FSC seal is only awarded to products that have actually been manufactured from the corresponding raw materials. Festool markets around 4,300 tonnes of cellulose material worldwide each year. To ensure that these materials come from controlled sources, we introduced the FSC certification system in 2021. The chain of custody certificate that we use is intended for those wood and paper products for which all of the stations along the supply chain are FSC-certified. This ensures that these Festool products can be traced back to the forest owner. This applies not only to the products themselves, but also to their packaging and the associated print media. In 2022, we already achieved our goal of offering at least 80% of the cellulose content in the products or packaging as being FSC-certified. Since 2023, more than 3,400 tonnes of the pulp used annually by Festool has therefore come from controlled sources.
FSC-certified Festool products (FSC-C164884)
The FSC certification relates to the following product groups:

DOMINO wooden connectors, filter bags, air filters, abrasive paper and multifunction tables. It is a well-known fact that the successful DOMINO dowels are made from wood. They originate from sustainable forest management and other controlled sources. Filter bags, air filters, abrasive paper and multifunction tables will be gradually converted. The FSC-certified products will then be labelled as such both in the catalogue and on the Festool website. As part of this process, the associated packaging and operating instructions will also be converted to ensure a uniform approach.
FSC™ certification
makes Festool one of the first power tool manufacturers in the sector with FSC certification.
